This was a great find on our drive through. Excellent food with ample portions and friendly service. Too bad we live hours away or I'd be back often! Highly recommended!

WOW! Amazing food and great service. I was welcomed with a smile. Got "The Works" platter with an add-on shrimp skewer to try it all. Everything is extremely well seasoned and flavorful. Chicken very tender. Steak slightly chewy. Shrimp delicious. The green sauce is crazy good. Dolmas were lemony and delicious. GET THE SPICY POTATOES! Thinly sliced, fried golden brown but still soft, and covered in a delicious sauce. Portion size was very generous. This new location has plenty of seating and is a nice place to eat in.

Des Moines, you don't know how good you've got it. I'm in town for work, forgot my lunch and found a beauty of a spot. After a quick order from a solid menu of options, I grab my take out order and on my way back, everything is smelling amazing. It took every bit of self-restraint I had not to pull over to the side of the road and devour it on the spot. I somehow made it back and crushed a delicious lunch. So darn good. I'm going to start forgetting my lunch more often. What a gem.

🍳☕️🥞 Our family ❤️ Green Olive for Mediterranean food during lunch & dinner! However, breakfast here is also lovely! The West Des Moines location is more spacious and less busy than the original location on Fleur Drive. Highlights of our meal included freshly squeezed OJ (squeezed by our server after we ordered), crepes with bananas & Nutella and a great cup of coffee (surprisingly good coffee, which met the approval of the coffee snobs in this family) . There are traditional breakfast options like French toast, eggs, pancakes, and delicious aquas frescas. Our kids especially love the crepes here. All 3 generations of our family left with happy, full tummies! Plenty of parking—We’ve even parked here while towing our camper. 😊

We have eaten at the Green Olive twice and did take out once and delivery once. Both times the takeout food was warm and fresh and of high-quality. The delivery was quick. Everything on the menu we’ve had so far was high-quality and reasonably priced. We’ve eaten at several Mediterranean restaurants over the years and Green Olive is a very solid choice with strong value, high-quality and great service levels. Highly recommend!

If you haven't visited the Green Olive on Grand, I'd say you're missing a great meal and that's not all; it's like home. The family treats you like a valuable patron but more than that, they go out of their way to ensure your satisfaction as if you were in their own home. I love it there and visit every week at least. The Green Olive has tastes from afar and something for everyone. I try different plates routinely and tonight was no different. I just keep eating yummy food and always some to take home. I tried the chicken schwarma bowl tonight. The flavors were a perfect blend of grilled chicken, yellow rice, chopped veggies, lettuce and a wonderful garlic paste dressing. Wish I had tried it long ago because it satisfied me perfectly! Don't miss this great Green Olive for super Mediterranean dishes along with a south of the border flair. And, try the churro like you haven't tasted before and the Popeye drink with no sugar and only spinach, celery, apples & cucumbers. You're in for some delicious treats!!

I ordered the combo meal, and it was the kind of plate that makes you slow down and enjoy every bite because there is so much flavor and variety. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, with that perfect balance of warm spices that tastes rich without being too heavy. The beef had a deep, savory flavor and a satisfying bite, and the lamb was the real standout. It tasted clean, bold, and cooked just right, with that hearty, slightly smoky taste that makes lamb worth ordering. Every protein on the plate felt like it was prepared with care, not rushed. The rice was fresh and fluffy, and it did exactly what great rice should do. It held the meal together and soaked up the flavor from everything around it. Then came the best part, the variety of sauces. Each sauce brought something different. One added a creamy smooth finish, another gave a bright kick, and another brought that deeper, bold flavor that keeps you coming back for one more bite. I loved being able to mix and match because it made the meal feel like several meals in one. To finish, I had the cheesecake and coffee, and that was the perfect ending. Wonderful service! The food is fantastic. My daughter loved the flan. The garlic fries do not disappoint. The green sauce literally makes everything even more delicious. We ordered chicken and falafel, gyros, and the shawarma. I would even just have the rice alone it was so tasty! What a gem.

The food was amazing let me say it again, the food was amazing, the meats were very well seasoned and there was other things on the plates like greens to balance out the flavors. 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone wanted to try some new fulfilling food. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes. 🤤🤤🤤
